A Pair of Early Morning Calls for Kingwood Fire |

| While most of the community was sleeping, Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department firefighters were out handling two very different calls early this morning. 📅 August 15, 2026 2:39 a.m. — Assist Person | South Preston Highway, Kingwood KVFD was dispatched to assist a mother who had accidentally locked her keys inside her vehicle with her young child still secured in the back seat. Firefighters were able to quickly gain access to the vehicle and evaluated the child, who wasTunnelton Vol. Fire Departmentall had a happy ending for everyone involved. 4:39 a.m. — Structure Fire | Senior Drive, Tunnelton Just two hours later, KVFD was back out the door when Engine 56 responded with a crew to assist the Tunnelton Volunteer Fire Department with a reported structure fire. Once on scene, Kingwood firefighters assisted with establishing a water supply, fire attack operations, and overhaul. Crews remained on scene for approximately four hours before returning to Kingwood. Two calls. Two very different situations. From helping a mother and child at 2:39 in the morning to assisting a neighboring department at a structure fire a couple of hours later, our volunteers continue to answer when called — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We appreciate the dedication of our firefighters who gave up several hours of their early Saturday morning to serve our community and our neighboring departments.
