| The Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department, in conjunction with the 11 other volunteer fire departments, respectfully requests your continued support for the Volunteer Fire Department Levy this May. We kindly ask for your affirmative vote on May 12th. The allocated funds will be utilized to support the operational endeavors of each volunteer fire department. ach of the 12 fire departments will receive an equal share of the levy, estimated at $52,500 annually. The Preston County Fire Association will receive $45,000 annually, with plans to allocate: $7,500 to the Preston County Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Team Other Association money will support training opportunities and the new training facility, which be located here in Preston County. (picture attached) Levy funds can only be used for legitimate needs and expenditures as outlined in State Fund Requirements. These include costs associated with: Supporting firefighting and rescue services, such as PPE, hand tools and specialized tools such as the Jaws of Life. The Association will continue to maintain a governing board to provide oversight, accountability, and approval of all expenditures, ensuring compliance with state requirements. No levy money is paid to a department until the board approves their expenditures. |
